The Austrian government's Covid support tools are one component richer. The Cancellation Bonus can be requested since February 16th, 2021.
Basic points
The relevant period is the calendar month starting with November 2020. The New Cancellation Bonus is currently limited to June 2021.
It is required to have a drop in sales of at least 40%.
The comparison period is the calendar month from March 2019 to February 2020 corresponding to the calendar month of the observation period.
For November and December 2020, the following applies: If a Sales Replacement (“Umsatzersatz”) has been claimed, no cancellation bonus can be requested.
The replacement rate is 30% of the decline in sales - of which 15% or half as a New Cancellation Bonus - and 15% or half as an advance on the Fixed Cost Subsidy 800.000.
The maximum amount of this funding is Euro 60.000 per month. Of this a maximum of Euro 30.000 will be paid out as a grant and a maximum of Euro 30.000 as an advance on the Fixed Cost Subsidy 800.000.
The application has to be done via FinanzOnline similar to the Sales Replacement and the starting date is the 16th of the following month, for the first time on February 16th, 2021. ATTENTION: The application period ends on the 15th of the third calendar month following the period under review.
Conclusion
From now on a monthly rough calculation should become routine in affected industries to determine whether there has been a loss of sales of at least 40%. The application deadline for this instrument is significantly shorter than for the Fixed Cost Subsidies 800.000.
